Joining the YPSC was a new experience for me because I never really joined a public speaking competition. It was really great for me because I am not too good in speaking in front of people as I tend to get nervous and stutter a lot, so because I kept practicing my speech, I realized during a certain presentation in school for science about the kidney transplant, I stopped stuttering and seemed more confident and clear in spreading my message, which helped me achieve a perfect score. I also felt really proud to achieve the gold award because it gave me motivation to join more public speaking competitions in the future.

Joining YPSC is one of the most memorable experiences I've had since entering the public speaking circuit. Through YPSC, I was able to express my thoughts and ideas liberally. It gave me a space to improve my articulation and my time on the screen. I am grateful for this competition for nurturing how I present myself. In conclusion, YPSC helped me increase my self-confidence.

My experience participating in the YPSC has been an enriching opportunity as I got to hone my public speaking skills and organize my thoughts to convey my thoughts on a given topic. This has helped me grow and flourish as a learner and public speaker as I'm able to have freedom in expressing my thoughts. Furthermore, challenging myself to exit my comfort zone means I'm also able to question my own thinking and perspective towards an issue. Hence, this opportunity led me to develop my critical thinking skills, as writing the speech for YPSC taught me to think outside the box, analyzing a topic deeper than what it may seem at first glance. But overall, receiving the chance to participate in the global round at Cambridge will motivate me to further challenge and develop my public speaking skills. Therefore, I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and thankful to GSO for allowing me to explore my interests.
